Microfluidics is an interdisciplinary research field that takes its foundation from physics, chemistry, biology and engineering. In this area, researches are carried out to produce miniature systems. These systems can be used for purposes such as the production of DNA chips, biological assays and chemical syntheses.
Microfluidic chips are systems that enable very small volume fluids to be controlled and moved in micro scale channels. Different materials and production techniques are used in making microfluidic chips.
