CD based systems allow the analysis of different phases of the liquid by separating it into phases of liquids using centrifugal force. CD-based systems consist of multiple layers. According to the properties of the liquid to be analyzed, channels are created in the CD with the help of a cad program (Autocad, Solidworks, etc.) and centrifugal force is calculated according to the desired phase of the liquid.
Polycarbonate, poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), cyclic olefin polymer (COP), polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), and polyurethane can be used as CD material.
It can serve many diagnostic and therapeutic purposes with various modifications made on CD (magnetic field, antibody immobilization, etc.).
